K’gari or Fraser Island is the largest sand Island in the World, with beaches, inland lakes, sand dunes and rainforest there is something for everyone, as long as you don’t mind sharing with the local wildlife!!

We have camped on K’gari and sailed around her quite a few times. Sailing is beautiful, dugongs, turtles, whales and dolphins are everywhere. The route through the back between the Island and mainland is very tidal and only passable at high tide, so you need a good map and be prepared. To cross the bar and exit to the sea from Pelican Point you need to phone for correct way points from the coast guard as the bar moves regularly.
